Food Service
Position Overview:
There are three F&B outlets at Nordic this season. The cafe, bistro, and Nordy's Pub.
Your duties include but are not limited to guest service, food and beverage prep, preparing food, operating a cash register, cleaning, disinfecting and stocking restrooms, cleaning all floors, and general workplace cleanliness.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform job on your feet for the entire shift
- Minimum age of 14
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds on a frequent basis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm demeanor
- Flexibility and willingness to perform various duties
- Purchase a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements
Lift Operations
Position Overview:
Lift operators are in constant contact with our guests and must be friendly and helpful when greeting and assisting them. You will be outside, sometimes for your entire shift, in all types of weather. You must be agile on soft and hard-packed snow surfaces and able to walk safely down the slopes. You may be performing lift maintenance or de-icing towers and clearing snow. You will work the Magic Carpet lift in the tubing area, and you may be scheduled to work as a tubing attendant during weekday “special open” events for school groups. Lift Operators are responsible for making sure customers have a safe and enjoyable experience while using the lifts at Nordic Mountain.
Essential Job Functions:
- Working outside, frequently in extreme weather conditions
- Physically holding chairs while guests load and unload chairlifts
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Snow shoveling required
- May be on your feet for the entire shift
- Minimum age of 18
- Purchase and/or rent a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements
Outdoor Guest Service
Position Overview:
Outdoor Guest Services is a great opportunity to develop your customer service skills and make an impact on our guest experience. You will be our guests first interaction as they approach the building. Responsibilities include but are not limited to ticket scanning and activation, shoveling and other snow work, and being a resource for our guests. Excellent communication skills and an outgoing personality is a must. These are among some of the first employees that interact with our guests.

- Greet and assist guests to ensure a positive experience
- Flexibility and willingness to perform various duties
Rentals Staff Member
Position Overview:
Rentals staff is in charge of providing guests with ski or snowboarding equipment, which is fit to each individual’s size and ability. This may include skis or a snowboard, boots, poles, and a helmet. It is of utmost importance that each guest feels cared for and comfortable in their rental equipment. No prior experience is required, as all training will be paid and conducted through Nordic Mountain. Other job requirements include but are not limited to: general cleaning of the lodge, emptying outside trash cans, shoveling snow and salting, and assisting in other departments when needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform job on your feet for an entire shift
- Acquire a rentals staff certification on or before your first shift
- Minimum age of 16
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
- Must be able to independently reach a height of 8 feet with the use of a ladder
- Snow shoveling is required
- Purchase a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements
Snow School Instructor
Position Overview:
Prior teaching experience is not required and will be taught at pre-season clinics. There will be a required Instructor Training Clinic for all new instructors.
Instructors work in high visibility positions and are expected to be friendly, courteous, and patient, at all times. Many times, instructors will be teaching a group of guests, and lessons are for all ages. Snow School Instructors are an extremely important position. You can be the reason someone decides to ski/board for the rest of there life!
Essential Job Functions:
- Good skiing and/or snowboarding ability preferred but not required
- Outside work, frequently in extreme weather conditions
- Commitment to improving skills and teaching techniques through practice and clinics
- Some clinics will be mandatory
- Excellent customer services skills necessary
- Minimum age requirement is 14
- Purchase and/or rent a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements
Terrain Park Attendant
Position Overview:
Park Crew members are to create and maintain terrain park features, take-offs, jumps and other obstacles and surroundings, that include features that support rider progression and provide on hill entertainment to a wide variety of skiing/snowboarding skill levels.
Essential Job Functions
- Greet and provide outstanding guest service at all times
- Minimum age of 16
- Inspect, shape and test terrain park features
- Maintain terrain park features raking, shoveling, and chipping ice off of features.
- Properly document and record daily inspections and fix needed work daily.
- Set up area fencing and signage as assigned. To include entrances and exits for the terrain parks.
- Educate guests on proper use and etiquette of the terrain parks if improper use of features is seen.
- Be familiar and knowledgable with the skier's responsibility code and park safety
- Snow removal/add snow around terrain park features daily.
- Work closely with multiple departments. Lifts, Patrol, & Operations
- Help out in other areas as needed. Be a team player.
Ticketing Staff
Position Overview:
Ticketing staff are among the first employees a guest talks to, so this position requires friendly and helpful people, with the ability to handle money in a fast-paced environment. The primary responsibility will be to knowledgeably and accurately sell tickets and pro-shop items as well as help the Cafe point of sales when needed. You must memorize all aspects of Nordic Mountain, be able to answer questions, and provide information about all departments. Job responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to: answering the phone, working closely with customers, general cleaning of the lodge, restocking the pro-shop, working a cash register at the ticket counter, and assisting with group check-ins.

Tubing Attendant
Position Overview:
Tubing Attendants are in constant contact with our guests and must possess friendly and helpful personalities. Attendants will perform all opening, operating, and closing procedures at the Tubing Park. They will assist customers at the top and the bottom of the hill with getting into and out of snow tubes. It is the tubing attendants' responsibility to ensure customers have a safe and memorable experience!
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform job on your feet for an entire shift
- Minimum age of 14
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds on a frequent basis
- Must be able to pull loaded snow tubes across the snow
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
- Snow shoveling is required
- Purchase and/or rent a uniform on or before your first shift and follow all dress code requirements
