A New Heart for Nordic Mountain
Last year it was the lodge. This year it's the building you'll never walk into — and will feel on every run.
We've built a new snowmaking pump house at Nordic Mountain. If the lodge is where your day starts and ends, the pump house is what makes the day possible at all. It's the heart of this business. No pump house, no snow, no season. So rather than wait for the old one to give out, we replaced it while it was still beating.
What that means on the hill:
- At least 1/3 more pumping capacity
- More terrain open, sooner — we can hit more of the mountain at once instead of working it in shifts
- A deeper base, built faster — more water moved per cold hour
- Higher pressure to the guns — more snow, faster; and an even better surface under your skis
Our snow guns are already among the most efficient and technologically advanced equipment on the market. But a gun is only as good as what you feed it. More water at higher pressure means every one of them works better, every hour we run.
You'll spot the new building next to the pond. It won't change your day the way the lodge did. The snow will.
Two straight years, two of the largest capital projects in Nordic Mountain's history. We're not slowing down.
